Do you have a CD player in your office, or just an iPod? I bought these "Buzz Ballads" CDs after I saw an infomercial, and it's all the best alternative music from the '90s! (Nirvana, Candlebox, Eve 6, Blind Melon, Hole, REM, etc..) It makes me feel like I'm in high school, and you'll feel like you're in college, B!
Congratulations, bad billy, you're the first person I've ever met who bought something from an infomercial. I do have a CD player, so hook me up.
Play some Skynrd, man.
Hey B., are you going tonight?
Okay, I will.
To 123? Yep.
Actually I meant to the Parents Place auction.
Ah. I'd love to, actually -- I had a lot of fun there last year -- but I think I'm going to be watching the kids. Sus will be there, though.
the last two songs I bought from iTunes ... the Shys - Call in the Cavalry, and TV on the Radio - Staring At The Sun. Heard them on Entourage and had to buy them. Can you see my iTunes, B?
No, but both songs are on their respective MySpace pages. I'm familiar with the TV on the Radio song, and I like it. The other is what I expected from a The band -- low-fi garage stuff. Not bad, though.
Bryan- There is an indie band that I really like called the Weakerthans. More thoughful songwriting than most of the standard "Rock & Roll" I listen to. I think you might really dig them. I assume they are on myspace or itunes...check'em out, I think you'd like them!
I realize I'm late on this post, but I have two things to share:
#1) I'll second zee on the "check out the weakerthans" motion. I love them.
#2) I bought the new Shins CD, and if you instantly want to be in a good mood, crank up #2 (I'm really bad with the names of songs...) on a sunny day. That's exactly what I did on my way to work, and it was like an instant high. The whole CD is great, but I'm really digging #2 and #7... Bryan, I can make a copy for you if you don't already have it!
Thanks, guys. I really liked The Weakerthans -- sorta alt-countryish on the first song I heard, and a little Postal Servicey on the second. I'll have to get that album.
kara, I do have the new Shins, and I really like it. It's a little more "out there" than their previous stuff, I think, and I'm glad. I actually think it's their most creative album so far.
Hey, you've been listening to the Ramones a lot, so there is no reason why you shouldn't enjoy one or all of my top three favorite bands of all times (in no specific order):
1- The Humpers (Good album to start with: Live Forever or Die Trying)
2- The New Bomb Turks (Good start: At Rope's End)
3- Rocket from the Crypt (Scream Dracula Scream)
