It's Friday. I need music.
You name it, I'll play it. But this week, if I may be so bold, I hope some of you will join in with me on the first two songs I'm going to listen to. I'd love to know what you think of them.
First is a mellow song by a band I'm just getting into, the Avett Brothers.

rob: Couldn't find that song, but I checked out their MySpace dealio. Pretty cool.
I'll suggest Poe. I heard her (them?) on one of my fave XM stations, Ethel. I liked it. Kind of trip-hop-ish, like a less mellow Portishead. Also, try to check out some Arctic Monkeys.

I'm getting over them ever so slightly but when I'm driving or cleaning my album of choice has been "Costello Music" by The Fratellis.

I read a review about a guy named Bill Callahan in Esquire. He was in a band called Smog, but has since released a solo album. He was compared to Conor and Sufjan.

missy: If only! I'm afraid I'm quite lacking in the super-powers department. I also like Batman, though, as does our tender hero from A Confederacy of Dunces, Ignatius J. Reilly, who said:

Damn straight about Batman, Ignatius. I'd also point out that Batman does nto have any superpowers either, Sleek.
