Who Would Play You?

We have a feature in the magazine I work for called "2 Tribes," where we find two people who are somehow related -- same name, similar job, same birthday, etc. -- and we ask them an identical set of questions. I'm always interested to see how people answer the "Who would play you in a movie?" question. So I'm going to pose this same question here.

Who would play you in a movie?

I'll start: Zach Braff, because he'd nail the silly-dance scenes.

On a side note, I'd like to direct everyone on over to Melissavina's blog for a little dose of "What to Watch on Wednesday." Trust me, this is not to be missed, even if you don't get to it until Thursday.

I would have to go with Clare Danes when she looks like this  and not this.   Or Kate Winslet when she looks like this and not this.   I think they both seem down-to-earth, and of course not insanely thin and plastic-y like many other actresses. They actually seem like real and approachable people. Also slightly bohemian, like me!

dm: Slightly? ;)

After much thought I have to go with Sean Connery and Cary Grant...The ladies seemed to love them even in their second childhood. Yep so thats kinda me and stuff. I stil have time to be dead sexy! ©

Peter Billingsley when he looked like this because I was 4'3" and not 100 lbs when I was 16, wore glasses, and was into computers. true geek. I had to gain a sharp tongue to keep me out of, and get me into, bar fights when the time was right after finally turning 21.

Fleming a brother in arms. I wrestled in my freshman year. I weighed 88 pounds and was in the 98 pound weight class. I have never been described as a natural athlete but man o man did it show in my Freshman year. In 6th grade my dad promised to buy me a weight set if I could reach sixty pounds....I did not but he bought me a weight set because I tried so hard. I rode bikes back then and by god I was good, unless you included the neighbors and or realtives, but that does not really matter, what matters is I ...What matters? Kind Regards JW

josh: So would they both be in the movie as you? Sort of an alter-ego, Fight Club type of thing?

fleming: How tall were you really at 16?

clash: Do you take your shirt off in public and run down the street a lot?

Sleek: really. I was 4'3". I drove a LeCar with a DC phonebook on the seat, hidden under a faux sheep skin seatcover. Mercifully, I had a growth spurt at 20, and now stand a respectful 5'9". I also discovered beer and am up to a whopping 160 lbs now.

Josh: Our wrestling coach tried to recruit me too! He used the promise of an undefeated season, wihout having to wrestle, because nobody else was in the 98lb class! I'm glad I repeatedly turned him down. 10 years later, he was sentenced to prison for sexual assault of a handful of boys.

They would be in differant smash hit movies as long as the movies were original, genre butsting. Pretty much an Oscar in everything I appeared on, or if not then an uproar amoung the public as to why I did not win the Oscar, maybe start a band, adopt some babes (not babys) pretty much do stuff that legends are made of...

Sleek,

Not since college, but I have on occasion. ;)

I have been saying for years that Johnny Depp would play me (Nick of Time/Gilbert Grape era Depp, not so much Pirates). Sadly, I am the ONLY one that can see this. My co-workers have told me that Adrian Brody would play me. My fiance says Freddie Prinze Jr. However, since I insist on someone with acting chops, that brings back to Depp.

Oh, and DM: Titanic era Kate Winslet may be the standard by which I measure hotness. I hate the fact that she went and lost a bunch of weight after boldly proclaiming that she liked her body the way it was.

Susan Chipley said...

Zee, I can definitely see Johnny Depp or Freddie Prinze Jr. Not Adrien Brody, though. I'm thinking Cry Baby-era Depp would be a great fit for you.

fleming: Mercifully, indeed. You'd be toast in this office if it weren't for that spurt. Just ask Bad Billy.

josh: You'd get my vote for an Oscar, pal.

clash: Ah, the good ol' days.

zee: I'd go with Henry Winkler in his Fonz days for you. You are definitely Fonzy-cool. Oh, and are you hitting on my wife?

dm: Are you hitting on my buddy?

Susan Chipley said...

Sleek, you're funny. You have to admit that the pic of Depp that I posted reminds you of Zee. Plus, I think we all know that I don't really look like Kate Winslet! However, I look at the first pic I posted of Clare Danes and it freaks me out a little.

Zee: I checked out some pics of Freddie Prinze Jr., and he just looks a bit to preppy to play you. Depp is the most fitting.

Ed Begley Jr.

dm: He does, but I still say he's Fonzie-cool.

rd: Man, you just gave me an awesome idea.

spooge: Ed Begley would turn down the part as soon as gets to the bit in the script where you read that Bill O'Reilly book and actually like it.

Who would play me...hmmm.

I guess I imagine a hybrid consisting of Jason Statham (guy that did The Transporter) and Andy Dick I suppose.

Although, I cannot stand Mr. Dick I think we have a similar sense of humor.

While Statham has my temper and affinity for danger, I can only hope to be as cool as he was in "Snatch."

You know they call this mentality "residual self image" in The Matrix, right Sleek?

Spooge: That's a great choice! His age could potentially be a problem. It may work though. His wife could definitely play Heather. Yeah. I definitely think that could work.

I am computer illiterate so this is useless without a picture, but I think that Jack Nance of "Eraserhead" fame would play me. Those who know me will see the resemblance by checking out this link: http://sorenta3.free.fr/blog/eraserhead.jpg

Susan Chipley said...

Wow, Getto. That's insane. I really want to see Eraserhead now.

SleekPelt said...

andy: No, I must admit I've yet to see The Matrix. From what I understand, that's a problem.

geto boy: Speaking of getting the hair just right!

Everyone thinks I resemble Winona Ryder or Christina Ricci... so I guess either one of them would work...

But personally I'd love Lucy Liu to play me so when we get together for those closed door meetings to discuss the scenes and script I can bury my face between her thighs.

But maybe that's just me...

valyna: It's as compelling a reason as any, Valyna, and perhaps it'll be enough to entice Lucy Liu to take the part.
