A New Slogan

There was quite an uproar when our state's slogan was changed a while back from "Wild, Wonderful West Virginia" to "West Virginia: Open for Business." The name was changed to promote a positive business environment in the state, but that wasn't enough to sell a lot of people (myself included) on the change.

Fortunately, I've come up with a new slogan that I think everyone can live with. It's so obvious, in fact, that I'm surprised it took me so long to figure it out.

My proposed slogan? West Virginia: That's some good business!

Sleek,

Your slogan should spread like wildfire!

I always thought WV was left out of Virginia's long run.

West Virginia: We Are For Lovers Too

p.s. The "That's Some Good Business" sticker on the back of my iphone is quite the conversation starter.

Awesomeness. That's just the ticket. Your stickers decorate two lab spots so far: my lab bench - natch - and the Big Whiteboard of Ideas. We're still debating whether or not to put one on the ultra, 'cause it's quite old and not as good business as we would wish.

what about:

West Virginia: Wild Lovers open for taking care of some good business, cause we have so many HOT SPOTS?

yeah vaavvy

I think all of the above slogans pander way too much. I like:

West Virginia: Fuck You.

Where's my sticker? Thats not good business to not satisfy your consumers.

clash: I've got one on my iPhone too! It's a perfect spot for the little ones.

teoh: I can't tell you how happy that all makes me. Let me know if you need more.

rd: Nice, that'll fit nicely on a bumper sticker.

zee: With the middle finger in the state outline!

matthes: Inexcusable. I was just asking myself today if I'd missed any. I'll send you a supply first thing tomorrow.

You know I was thinking about those stickers that I dare not stick because of their collector potential...This could take off and I could have a Mickey Mantel Yankees era signed by the team baseball, sitting just begging to be stuck to something obvious, for all to see. Do I live for today and use these stickers? Do I hold them in a safe, for a future college fund? (In case I decide to move near a college) So many racing thoughts, so little lithium.

But that's like clipping the wings of a bird, Josh. Don't cage the stickers in an album -- stick them somewhere and set them free. If they come back to you, they're yours. If they don't ... they never were.

Gotcha, thanks.

Brilliant. The middle finger in the state outline accompanying my cathcy new slogan, that is.

I smell the next great sticker-craze.

At first glance, I thought that said "Wild Wonderful West Vagina."

Although I daresay that'd get 'em some visitors.
