Tonight I'm Gonna Party Like It's 1999

Check out this video from 1967. (The DM saw this on Snopes.com, and it's legit.) Talk about nailing it.

So here we are, still in the infancy of the information age (though this puppy is growing up fast!). What will it be like 30 years from now?

Thats amazing!! i love footage like this! the father of that family must have a pretty bad neck from all that head shaking back and forth. pretty incredible how it's all come true 40 odd years later... we didn't get the home surveillance option with our computers (at least i don't think we did... hmmm, that would explain alot of...nevermind!) but the home shopping is great!! i just can't seem to get my husband to use the "print/pay family online shopping bills" function. must be a glitch in his 'console'. MUST must get that fixed! *d

Nice! As for the "home Surveillance" option....Nanny cams are pretty popular, does that count?

I always thought the Jetsons got it pretty close, too.

I want a computer with large dials like those. But they may leave the large hairdos in the '60s, thank you very much.

*dalyn: I have my whole house wired up with cameras. You don't? ;)

eric: Ha!

zee: Yep, they count. The DM and I were in airports last week and I complained because the moving sidewalks are so much slower than they were on The Jetsons. What the eff? I want to zip, dude!

teoh: Wonder what the dials would be for? To navigate through a range of numbers, like a radio dial? I wish I would have seen that twenty years ago; I would have started buying up domain names.

"What the wife (nice) selects at her console, will be paid for by the husband (of course) at his counterpart console..."

Ok, I'm on my third glass of wine, but that's freaking funny.

The greatest part is the 15-foot desk he needs for the necessary modulators and gyroscope vector inhibitors! :)
