Elephant Gun

I first listened to Beirut when Colin MacIntyre said their last album, Gulag Orkestar, was the record of the year. That means a lot to me coming from Colin, so I checked them out, and the DM and I loved the album instantly.

So the DM mentioned Beirut's video for "Elephant Gun" on Chez Mama yesterday, imploring people to check it out. I've decided to help her in her cause, because it really is a great song and a bitchin' video. Let us know what you think?

nice song...i found the video mildly distracting. Like the people dancing somewhat crazily, but you can tell they are really good dancers..Have I ever told you guys that i wish i could have been a professional dancer? No, not one that involves a pole, but like a ballerina. A cool one that breakdances too. Love the trumpet. my favorite place to listen to music is in the car. the elephant trucks...love those too. Ok...disclosure...i drinking wine...i should get a ticket for drinking and commenting. Love you guys. i'll be listening/watching this again.

olives: If I remember correctly, you injured your knee attempting a ballet move a couple years ago. I also seem to remember you wanting to take ballet classes.

I'm not so sure about the song just yet... but it seems like one of those tunes that could severely grow on me if I give it a chance.

I LOVE the video though :) Awesome imagery and the dancing is great... and I gotta give props to the cutie pie in the black knee-high stockings.

olive: Drink and comment all you want, it's highly encouraged here. Glad you liked it.

valyna: I thought you might like the video. Hey, how did your Indian food experience go?
