Funny stuff! Whose weird idea was synchronized swimming anyway? Hard to believe it's an olympic "sport".
mom: I honestly had no idea that Harry Shearer does Pricipal Skinner. I'm not sure how that's escaped me for all of these years, but thanks for putting an end to it.
winters: Bonjour, mon ami. Apparently we can blame some German men in the late 1800s. An odd "sport" indeed.

That's been part of my lexicon since this aired in the 80s.
By far, my favorite season of SNL.
rob: So classic. "I'm not that ... strong a swimmer" has always been a part of mine. The look on Short's face is unforgettable.

Shearer is Skinner?! Man, I never knew that either. This clip is terrific. I somehow missed it in the 80s. So funny. I can't view videos at work,so I am usually the last to post on these.

zee: I used to tape SNL episodes from the mid- to late '80s and watch them over and over again. As Rob brought up, this one was always very quotable.
