Friday Music

It's Friday. I need music.

I had a dream about Neil Diamond last night, so that's how I'm starting the day. I still have a few things to get to from last Friday, too, but then I'm a blank score. (And it doesn't have to be unfamiliar to me; whatever you're feeling is great.)

You are the sun, I am the moon.
You are the words, I am the tune.

Play me.

First to post... I need a life. I hope you listend to my plane crash song. Peggy Lee's Is that all there is. PJ Harvey covered it also. But this week my suggestion is David Vandervelde, "Nothin No"

BZ, you might want to check it out also. I think it might be something you would like.

paco: I finally got to it today -- all I can say is, wow. What a perfect plane-crash song. Maybe you'd sing....

"The plane's spiraling downward. People are screaming, bags are flying, things are banging and bumping ... is that all there is? Is that all there is to a plane crash? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing. Let's break out the booze and have a ball."

Thanks for adding this song to my life, pal.

"Is that all there is" really is a great plane crash song for sure. BZ, when I said you might want to check it out I was refering to the David Vandervelde song but you can listen to Peggy Lee if you like as well.

Sleekpelt, to be honest....I FREAKING LOVE NEIL DIAMOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thats the truth. I was rocking the double Neil Diamond greatest hits tape(i refused to by a cd till prob '94) in the Pinto back in High School. Finally did upgrade to the double CD however. Im so far out of the loop I think im "cool" because I buy CD's. NO ONE STILL BUYS CD's....so in prob about 10 yrs from now I will get a mp3 player.

paco: Oh, I freaking love Neil Diamond too.

Kicking Lily Allen now (thanks RomDdly). I tried The Why Store, and they seem like they would have been fun to party to. I believe they're disbanded now. I'm going to try LOW and kick some Throwing Muses next (thanks Valyna). I think that catches me up from last week.

Oh, and winters, I found "Blind Willie McTell." It's next.

if you're in a particularly "black" mood on this lovely day, you should check out Witch Taint.

I listened to The Breeders Title TK on the way to work. Best track: Full on Idle.

I'll try to dig up some David Vendervelde, PP.

anon: Jon Kennedy is different for me, which is good. I like him, but I'll have to give it some more time before the final verdict. As for ALO -- WHOA! These guys are so awesome.

Mom and Raoul -- you both must check this band out right now. I'd love to hear some of your feedback on these guys. Wow!

SleekPelt said...

Raoul: I'm guessing you know and like ALO already.

The lyrics on alo's wasting time are GREAT!!.....anon

winters: I meant to say, I think "Blind Willie McTell" is a great song. All the piano is a nice departure from his guitar-based stuff.
