New Business Watch

Yes! My boy Weege came through already! Check out his latest post, straight from the press box at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium. Read it all the way to the end, and you'll see that the business has begun. I knew you'd come through, Weege! I'll be listening tonight.

  1. Erm, I'll just... wait quietly in the corner until this blog reverts back to something within my frame of reference.

  4. teoh: Not to worry, I'll get back on subject in no time.

keith: Hello! I have seen that. That's one of the common colloquial versions ... mine is more of a substitute for 'stuff.'

  5. dalyn: Wow. I have seen this, now that you mention it. This is yet another distinctly different version of business, but it's got me worried. Maybe I'm campaigning for a word that just has too many slang meanings already? I'm going to have to think about this....

  6. I immediately responded, but it takes him foreverrrrr to post the replies.

    This could go big, Sleek!

  7. Oops. I posted that last comment under Sarah Whitmore's account (I moderate the comments on her blog for her, so she doesn't pull a Weege). Anyway, I said:

clash: He used it perfectly in his post, then he said it like four times last night in the webcast. Nice. It does take him a long time to approve those comments, what with all the travel....

  8. You get up every morning
    From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
    There's a whistle up above
    And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
    If you ever get annoyed
    Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

    And I'll be...
    [Refrain]
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
    Work out!

If it were easy as fishin'
    You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
    Get a second-hand guitar
    Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows

    People see you having fun
    Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
    And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day

    And we be...
    [Refrain]

[Spoken] Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day whoo!

    [Repeat first 2 verses]

    [Refrain]

    Takin' care of business [4x]

    [Refrain]

Takin' care of business [repeat, fade]

  9. Looks like Josh is finally in time for Friday Music!

Have you all been over to My Mule to see the kook who has been posting on Joshies site? It's creeping me out and I'm brave as shit!

    Mom!

  10. mom!: I went over and read Josh's blog, but I'm not sure who you're talking about. There was one person who seemed a bit suspect, but I'm just not sure. Hint, please?

  11. josh: Ah, yet another standard usage to confuse the kids. My meaning is doomed.

mom: Every time I go over there, I'm too distracted by Josh's amazing ideas to notice anything askew.

    dm: I'll show you.
