They're not bad. They fall into that "bar band" thing that I have a hard time really getting into (a la Springstein), but I can certainoly appreciate. THey seem like good muscicians and songwriters. I dug Stuck Between Stations a little more than Southtown Girls. They are on Vagrant, which was the label that released on of my all time favorite band's last 2 records (Rocket From the Crypt). Of course, they also signed a bunch of emo crap (The Get Up Kids) and they seem to be puching some "cookie monster vocal" band (screamo?), but I certainly won't hold that against the Hold Steady.
Well, I like 'em.
